How to photograph products with natural light
Try to start reading this paragraph right away. In the bad version, a promo banner and a photo arrive a moment later and push the text down while you read — that jump is a layout shift.
Natural light from a window is soft, free and flattering. Place the product about one metre from the window, use a white card as a reflector on the opposite side, and turn off the room lights to avoid mixed colour temperatures.
A seamless background (a curved sheet of paper works) removes the horizon line and keeps attention on the product. Shoot slightly above the product's height for a natural perspective.
Finally, keep the same setup for every product in a collection. Consistent light and framing make a catalogue look professional and help shoppers compare items quickly.
